Not only does San Jose have a children's discovery museum, but they also have the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.


Peter was interested in the turtle, ...

...the tropical birds, ...


...the wallaby, ...

...and the sheep, donkey, and miniature horses.




It was all well and good to look at these animals, but Peter wanted to get down and touch them, darn it.



So we wandered around with some goats for a while. Peter's months of training at home, petting our cat, really paid off with the goats.



One minute the goats were friendly, considering giving Peter a quick peck on the cheek...

...and the next minute, a goat got in Peter's way, and he tried to walk over it (hey, that's what he does to Mama and Dad when they're lying on the floor...). It was a little too tall for him.

"Hey, guys, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend you."

We also visited the park section. It seems mostly designed for older kids, but we did have his first ride on a carousel.



And Peter tried to get up on an elephant, but it was a little large.
